At StackNoble, we understand that your privacy matters. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our learning management system and exam platform. We’re committed to being transparent about our practices and giving you control over your data.
If you have questions, reach out to us at info@stacknoble.com
For users in India, StackNoble processes personal data as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”). Section 8 of this policy explains how to reach our Grievance Officer directly.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. If you’re a student, your institution may also provide us with a student ID number. We use this to set up your account and communicate with you about courses, exams, and platform updates.
As you use StackNoble, we track your progress through courses, quiz scores, assignment submissions, and exam results. This data is only visible to you, your instructors, and administrators at your institution.
If your institution uses StackNoble to run classes, we record each class you are scheduled for and whether you were marked present, absent, late or excused, together with who recorded it and when. If you are a teacher, we also record the classes you teach, when you opened and submitted each attendance sheet, and any later correction made by your institution’s administrator, along with the reason given. Teachers see only the name, roll number and student ID of the students in their own classes when taking attendance.
When you take an assignment, we record the answers you save, when you started and submitted, whether it was submitted automatically because the time ran out, and the marks you received. Written answers are marked by an automated AI service: your answer and the question are sent to that service, without your name or contact details, only to produce a mark and short feedback. Code answers are run on a secure code-execution service to check them against test cases. Your teachers and your institution’s administrators can see your answers, marks and how long you took. Your marks and the correct answers are shown to you only once your teacher or administrator releases the results. They may also allow you to retake an assignment, in which case the new answers replace the earlier ones.
When you take an exam using our secure exam app, we may collect webcam recordings, screen activity, and violation logs to maintain exam integrity. This data is collected only during proctored exams and reviewed solely when there’s a concern about exam integrity.
We automatically collect certain technical data including your IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction patterns. This helps us keep the platform running smoothly and fix issues quickly.
We use the information we collect to:
We don’t sell your personal information to anyone. We only share your data in these limited circumstances:
If you’re using StackNoble through a school or organization, we share your learning data, exam results and class attendance with administrators and instructors at that institution. They need this information to manage courses, run timetables, follow up on attendance shortfalls and evaluate student performance. Attendance reports prepared by the institution may be downloaded by its authorised staff.
We work with trusted third-party services for hosting, video streaming, email delivery, analytics, code execution, and AI services (for example, to mark written answers). These providers only access the data they need and are contractually obligated to protect your information.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of StackNoble, our users, or others.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information:
While we do our best to protect your information, no system is completely secure. If you notice any suspicious activity, please contact us immediately.
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
You can view most of your information directly in your account dashboard. If you need a complete copy, or a summary of how it’s being processed, contact us and we’ll provide it within 30 days.
You can update your profile anytime in your account settings, or ask us to correct or complete any inaccurate data we hold about you.
Where we rely on your consent to process data, you can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing we already completed lawfully before the withdrawal, and may mean some features of the platform stop working for you.
Contact your institution’s administrator, or us directly, to request account deletion. We’ll act on erasure requests unless we’re legally required to keep something (for example, exam integrity records your institution needs for its own compliance).
You can nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, by writing to us at the contact below.
